ROSSLYN, VA—The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) published ANSI C82.77-5-2015 American National Standard for Lighting Equipment—Voltage Surge Requirements. This new standard specifies voltage surge limits and testing requirements for lighting equipment.
ANSI C82.77-5 was developed by the ANSI Accredited Standards Committee for Electric Ballasts, and covers lighting equipment used for general illumination that is typically found in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. ANSI C82.77-5-2015 may be downloaded or purchased in hard copy for $60 on the NEMA website.
