NECA Files Comments on Streamlining FCC Rules

NECA filed comments yesterday on the FCC’s notice of proposed rulemaking on the ACAM Broadband Coalition’s enhanced A-CAM proposal and proposed rule revisions to make the high-cost program more efficient.

In its comments, NECA addressed the commission’s proposals for streamlining review of rate-of-return local exchange carrier mergers as they relate to carriers participating in its traffic sensitive tariff. They noted the proposed rule changes reflect a practical and effective step forward to streamline the merger and acquisition process, provide companies with predictability when considering mergers and/or acquisitions and ease the administrative burden associated with the waiver process.
